Warwick and Kenilworth Books consist of 2 independent bookshops in Warwickshire. The shops have been in business for 6 years and 2 years respectively and are run and owned by husband and wife team Keith and Frances Smith. They have been voted one of The Independent Newspaper’s Top 50 Bookshops and run numerous events and author signings.
The Requirement
Events and book signings were advertised by word of mouth around the Warwickshire area, Keith and Frances felt that many more people who would love to come to these events if they could be reached. Keith also painstakingly produced a monthly newsletter and emailed it to a large mailing list in small batches. He needed a more efficient way to manage the articles which were stored in individual documents, and an easier way to manage and utilise the mailing list. The website would also require a hosting solution, domain name registration and Search Engine Optimisation.
The Solution
Creative Internet by Design was able to provide a Content Management System with advanced features that enabled Keith to easily manage book reviews and news articles as well as automatically send them in a Newsletter format to the mailing list every month. The website is hosted on secure and reliable servers and Search Engine Optimisation has already been proven effective with reviews of newly released books regularly posting front page results on popular Search Engines such as Google and Yahoo.
The Result
By reaching a much greater audience, these events have become more popular, increasing revenue and knowledge of the shop. Book reviews can be submitted on-line so Keith can publish them with the click of a button, saving hours of work every month.
